Privacy Policy
This site collects personal data from readers, most of them in the Philippines. This page says plainly what is taken and what is done with it.
What is collected
Only what a form asks for: a name, an email address, and, where the form provides for it, an institution, whether you teach the subject, the type of inquiry, and a message.
Why it is collected
To send the free first edition and the notice that follows it, to tell readers when an amendment affects a chapter, to say when a second edition is published, and to answer inquiries sent through the contact form.
How it is used
Records are held in the site's own database and email is sent through a third-party delivery provider engaged for that purpose alone. Nothing is sold, rented, or passed to advertisers.
How long it is kept
Until you ask for it to be removed, or until it no longer serves the purpose it was given for.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 you may ask what is held about you, have it corrected, object to its use, and have it erased. Write and it will be done.
Analytics
If you click Accept on the notice at the bottom of the page, the site loads Google Analytics, which uses cookies to record which pages are visited, approximate location, and device and browser type. Nothing is loaded or recorded if you decline. Analytics data is processed by Google and used only to understand how the site is read. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the notice will then appear again.
